Aymara Food Organic Lucuma

Pouteria lucuma is a tree of the sapotaceae family that gives a fruit known by the Andean natives as lucuma. This fruit from Peru is considered a superfood.

The lucuma was nicknamed by the Incas “tree of life” or “gold of the Incas”. Its sweet taste is similar to that of maple syrup. This fruit grows in the mountainous regions of the Andes.

In South America, lucuma is very popular in desserts, especially in the form of ice cream and cake.
